Yaquina Head Lighthouse and Cobble Beach Loop Trail is a 0.4 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Newport, Oregon that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for walking, nature trips, and bird watching and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area extends one mile out from the Oregon coast. The 93-foot lighthouse has been guiding ships along the coast since August 20, 1873. Accessibility: The trail surface is paved and it is typically at least six feet wide. The estimated average grade is 2% and the max grade is 4% on this route. It is suggested that wheelchair/mobility equipment and stroller users stay on this route and avoid going on the trails further south because the steep greatly increases there, up to 25%.
There is a restroom by the parking lot.

November 18, 2020I really enjoy my hike to this beautiful lighthouse coast and beautiful pine trees. Great short hike not many people out there for a rainy day. Restrooms are open. Magnificent views . I highly recommend . There is fee to get in but should be discounted lighthouse is closed partially Park is close . I really did care took beautiful pictures and enjoy the coast

August 6, 2020Road up to the Lighthouse is closed and the Lighthouse is closed, as well. The short walk from the end of the parking lot up to the Lighthouse is closed due to a new paint job that is underway. From 101 to the end parking lot is just over 2 miles. We hit it on a cold and windy day but still well worth the trip. Awesome views and Lighthouse if you're into those things.
August 5, 2020LOVE coming here! perfect for kiddos & pup! great views! tons of wildlife. make sure you go to all the stops around the lighthouse & down the stairs path to the tide pools. DO NOT GO WHEN THE FLIES ARE IN! WHEWWW!

August 14, 2019Great little hike scenic view of Lighthouse, all kinds of sea birds, seals, whales, and a nice cobblestone beach that makes a nice sound as the wave recedes back into the ocean. a tidal pool exploring at low tide.

June 7, 2019Tide was low so easy to see the seals with the pups. Amazing views from the base of the lighthouse, too. I highly recommend this, especially if traveling with family.
May 21, 2019Great if you are seeking a sanitized experience. To be honest, it makes me sad to go there. I spent a lot of time there as a kid when it was truly wild. It was so beautiful. Now, it's pavement and fences.
