Wildwood Loop Trail is a 3.7 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Portland, Oregon that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Start at the Ridge trailhead at the bottom of the SJ bridge, take Leif Erikson to Hardesty, down Trillium and Wildwood back to Ridge intersection. 5 mile loop with spread out elevation changes for moderate hiking. The Trillium Trail is outstanding in the early spring!
Trillium and waterline were SUPER muddy. The rest was great. One of the better Parking situations for Forest Park.
Great hike but pretty muddy (as expected). The bright side is that there are less people on the trail.
Great trail for experienced and beginner hikers! Different paths and maps everywhere.
Really nice forested trail, good for getting away from the city for a bit. The Wildwood trail section is fairly easy, mostly flat with gentle slopes. Trillium trail is super steep and muddy, if you don’t have good balance or waterproof boots it would be better to take the firelane 7 down to Wildwood instead. Rest of the trail is not too muddy, just some puddles. Snow berries are really pretty on the way out in January.
Light to moderate use, parking can be a challenge. Follow the oneway signs.
perfect condition after a few sunny days. no obstacles and virtually no mud
Quite muddy and a bit slick for an early Thanksgiving morning hike.
Parking in the neighborhood was a challenge. It was a very foggy day, so the views were eerie rather than spectacular.
lots of people, but also lots of cute dogs and interesting mushrooms. They have done a good job cutting most of the trees that blew out after the last windstorm.
nice little loop. very steep descent, much like Bon Jovi, likely slippery when wet
Great! It’s a very pretty loop. The version of this I did, including the Ridge Trail that connects to the Wildwood Loop, is more like 6.5 miles. The official Wildwood Loop portion, well marked with new signs, is a bit different and longer than AllTrails version.
