Trail is fine - the last 3/4 mile to the beach is not a trail but a soft, sandy road that’s pretty challenging to jog on.

My wife and I hiked this trail and were surprised that only about 1/2 mile was in the woods along the waterway. The rest was down a dune buggy road that we both struggled with. We were pretty whipped when finished and were feeling certain we would not make this hike again. It may have been that the actual trail was closed off for nesting season. Benefit of the doubt goes here.

2nd hike with Trekker, who tumbled into the river, with both of us getting wet as I hopped in to push him onto the bank, a good adventure for us. He hiked about 6/10 mile today.

We did this after the Lagoon Trail and it was just beautiful. It was a little overcast and chilly but the walk and the views were worth it. Took the dog and stopped before nesting area but it was still a great little hike.

Like the above comment, easy, relaxing trail. The latter half of the trail was closed when i walked it in mid March though, due to snowy plover nesting. So it also is a good bird watching trail if you're into that.

Very easy trail that will take you along a coastal stream, through wetlands, by Snowy Plover habitat and finally to the beach.
