HikingGreat!

You can park at exit 31 multnomahs lot and it’ll be a 4 mile round trip. Highway 30 was closed so if you take that exit you have to do a huge turn around to get back on 84 east. Trail was great, not too muddy or slippery even though it was misting etc. lots of highway noise until you get far enough in towards fairy falls. Large switch backs the whole way up. Overall lots of beautiful falls to see. We saw about four plus beautiful river tracks.

This is a great trail! This mapped route goes just past Fairy Falls. I continued left at the fork to Vista Point which I HIGHLY recommend- but be aware that it requires a creek crossing. The trail up is full of switchbacks...like, RELENTLESS switchbacks. It’s also 90% paved with packed gravel. If you have a fear of heights, skip this one- there are tons of sharp drop offs and the trails don’t have any sort of barrier preventing a fall. You see Multnomah Falls, Wahkeena Falls, Fairy Falls, and some unnamed falls/roaring creeks.

We did this hike on a Sunday 11am. The parking lot was full so we kept driving and found parking at Multnomah Falls. The first mile up the Multnomah falls trail is all uphill and pretty crowded. After the first mile, the crowd dies and you are immersed in the forest. The next 1.5/2 miles of the hike is the best segment in my opinion. You will pass several waterfalls and throughout the 5 miles I think we crossed 4 or 5 waterfall streams, some more challenging than others. About one mile of the trail is burned but you’ll be in lush forest again to end your hike. It was awesome! But a lot more uphill than I expected.

Beautiful trail. Most people were wearing masks, but several were not. The parking lot off 30 is open.

Nice trail. Definitely continue on 84 instead of getting on 30. 30 was closed (12/20), and parking is easier off 84.

Really enjoyed this trail! Lots of serene views of the falls. Went on a Sunday morning and it wasn't too crowded. It's a steady incline up to Fairy Falls, but well worth the trip. Parts of the trail are paved and there are several switchbacks along the way. After reaching Fairy Falls, I continued up onto Vista Point Trail #419, which offers a nice view of the Gorge. :) I recommend parking at the Multnomah Falls lot, as it has a lot more parking and there's a connecting trail from there.

Didn’t realize how long the Wahkeena trail was, we did the vista point loop. My first time doing the loop back, I always turned back but I took my 5 month old Aussie pup and he loved it, a tad bit too long for him

The trail was great and beautiful, but just be careful not to touch the plants because in some areas there were poison oak. My bf accidentally grazed his arm on one and it gave him a slight rash. Luckily it went away after several hours, but still ... “Leaves of three, let it be”

HikingGreat!

Had the trail to ourselves at 7:30am on a Wednesday. Gorgeous views the whole way. Somewhat steep with switchbacks but totally worth it! Very limited parking. Lot was full when we came back down at 9:15. Loop is closed, but we were able to walk over to Multnomah Falls along highway 30 trail.
