Just did this hike for the fourth time yesterday. The first part of the trailhead had about 2 - 7" of snow up to the mid-point trailhead. It had about 3 - 4' of snow in places on the trail at the mid-point trailhead. If you decide to go up there before July, be mindful that snow isn't easy to walk through and you need a pair of extra clothing or waterproof clothing just in case you fall. Made a 360 video of the Lake once we got up there and it's on my YT channel. If you guys wanna take a look. It's a non-profit channel for the elderly and disabled so that they can experience the joy of the locations and hikes from their homes since they cannot do hikes like that. Trail was broken for about 1 mile the we had to lay new track. Beautifully quiet. No birds even. Just a few aircraft. I was too tired for the last push!

Wife dog and I hiked in mid October. Snow was 4-6” deep which made it a little more difficult but still doable. Don’t sleep on the elevation gain.

Hiked on a Sunday afternoon and only saw one other couple! A little steep, so keep that in mind, but well worth the view!

This is a family favorite lake. Our boys love rock jumping into the water. It is frigid tho’, even in the heat of August. The view is definitely worth the steep hike in.

My wife and I went on this hike today and have to say it was worth our time. You're surrounded by tall trees which provided shade on on a hot summer day. You have to hike up the hillside, which some areas are steep but manageable. Once you reach halfway point, it open to green widerness and flowers and a beautiful view of the valley. The top of course is the lake, which was breathtaking. We spent a couple hours in this amazing area before making our way back down.

The trail is steep and goes “up” but the hike is worth the view. Amazing Lake!!!

Trail is in great condition as of today's date. No snow by the lake, but some snow persists in the north aspects near the ridgetops.

took a overnight hike up with a group does have some heavy elevation gain the whole way so my group didnt make it with me. heavy snow still (watch for tree wells and logs 3ft of snow to fall in) was a beautiful hike non the less and weather was good. maybe another 3 or 4 weeks and snow will be gone. deff will go again.

Two of us went up yesterday, and found a truly wonderful lake and view. As of now, the snow pack is melting, and the trail is actually fairly treacherous, but I'd say give it a few weeks to be clear. Absolutely worth the hike every time, but the trail is still well buried. The first two stretches, before and after the 180, are generally solid snow at a 45° angle to the path. The last leg to the Lake the trail is simply gone, but the tracks lead the way. I would not recommend for most to attempt it until later in the year. As always, be aware of the danger of tree-wells. Most have melted down and are exposed, but the smaller ones are still buried.

Elevation gain is around 2000', but besides that, a lovely short hike. Great for snowshoeing during the winter, although you'll need snowshoes with large spikes/teeth for some areas where the snow slides off the side of the mountains

Hike was great went about a week ago. steep incline all the way but with brakes here and there totally doable by any age. Had the Lake completely to ourselves. An older couple turned back and missed a great experience, just keep going!!

A group of us ages 4-64 went up middle of August. For decently active people it’s an easy out and back trail with a beautiful lake as a destination point! Jumped in to cool off and swim and went back down. All within 2.5 hours! The trail is a little steep at times.

Hike was a bit more tough for us who don’t hike often, but was 100% worth it! The lake was gorgeous!!

Absolutely loved this hike!! There are no switchbacks on this trail so the majority of the hike is on an incline. It is totally worth it though the views of the lake once you reach the top are breathtaking. I camped there overnight and got to see a couple deer and plenty of birds and little chipmunks!! Definitely will be doing this hike again!

I’ve done this hike as a day trip with kids and 60 something women and it’s totally doable for both ages. Well maintained trail all the way up with no water crossings. The trail is mostly shade, but still pack plenty of water for the trek. Not overly crowded, but lots of dogs. There are some good places on the west side to camp if you don’t mind the mosquitoes. There are a couple sandy parts, too, in case you’re brave enough to swim.

Climb up is a little steep but so worth it! Bring bug spray cause there are a lot! Once you're there WOW! So Beautiful, peaceful, with many more trails to do. We walked around the lake, found waterfalls and experienced many more views. Will definitely do again!

This is a pretty long climb. Trail is easy the walk is not. Beautiful area and will hike this trail again. Just know the climb is over 2300 ft in elevation. Easy trail moderate to hard climb.

The water is freezing, you need to go on really warm days. Crystal clear though, and beautiful views. Great place for stargazing at night.
