A short hike to a terrace of hot springs on the Umpqua River in Oregon. This terrace of geothermal pools are a welcome stop along the North Umpqua trail for mountain bikers and hikers. They are also easily accessible from the road.

Like every hot spring in the lower 48: pick your day and get there early. Bizzzzzz-zy!

This place is beautiful. You first cross a bridge to get to the trail. The trail is very quick and mostly incline which was perfect to warm us up to change into our bathing suits. There are nude people there just in case some of y'all are not into that. Not too crowded and everyone there was super friendly. Over all a great and beautiful experience!

Trail was fine, the hot springs were crowded and looks muddy and dirty. There were a lot of people and it smelled terrible, definitely not appealing at all. Save yourself the trip and visit a waterfall instead

Beer bottles, abandoned muddy towels, dirty diaper stuffed under the deck. People are problematic.

LOTS of people even on a day in the pouring rain. But quick and easy trail. The 3 lower pools are NOT hot, at all. We did find out later there is hot springs down by the river bed id the upper ones are full. Pretty good amount of space though as long as people are friendly and open. Be nice and share!

Easy Trail. Hot Springs smelt like urine and FYI if you aren’t cool with nudity and people nude in the hot springs then don’t go. but the river at the bottom is so refreshing

Hike is short but pretty boring. We went on Wednesday around 8pm and there was only a couple and a family with 3 kids. Once you reach the pools, everything is just gross. The smell is bad, the water is dirty, there’s graffitis everywhere, trash all over the place... it looks so bad that we didn’t even go in the water. Very disappointed. Don’t even bother going there, absolutely not worth it.

Awesome hike up. Very short but beautiful. The hot Springs themselves were pretty dirty and everyone seemed to be there

6/29/19 Went in the evening. Mosquitoes were heavy. Wish they were a little warmer.

We went on a Thursday at noon and there were about 20 people there dispersed between 6 small hot springs pools. There was not enough room for us to go soak so we hiked back. There were 10 more people hiking up as we were hiking down. Very very crowded. Graffiti everywhere. Park service posted a sign talking about all the E. coli, human and animal waste, toilet paper mounds, and drugs that are found up there. Could be an incredible amazing spot, but the park service is going to have to add more manpower to get it back to what it was. Disappointed :(

Saw some trash and lots of people, and then some hot springs. The amount of people just made it very unappealing; and some are really not good stewards of this area. I'll have to come back at a better time (mid-week, early morning or late evening)

It's unfortunate that people don't pick up after themselves. There was a lot of plastic, glass, and cans left behind. Such a beautiful place but overcrowded.

Stunning location for hot springs. Perched just on the cliffs of a river outlook. It’s just unbelievable that it’s all natural - because it seems so perfectly orchestrated and man made. The springs themselves fluctuate in warmth I’ve noticed. Last year the one near the very bottom was just as hot as some at the top. However, this year the one at the very bottom (next to the river) was quite cold. Which is a shame since this is a nice spot and less crowded than the top springs. We did however still enjoy the upper springs with our two boys (ages 3.5 and 5). It did give us some anxiety to have them so close to the slippery edge of the hot springs but we kept a close eye on them. Everyone is happy and relaxed up there! Be warned that there are almost always people in their birthday suits. Our kiddos didn’t care but just heads up to some parents.

I went there toward the end of the winter and the trail was rough to walk on with the snow being so slippery but I loved every second of it either way. There were a decent amount of people as well so it’s definitely more well known! The view is amazing and there’s multiple hot springs at different temperatures. I definitely want to go back again!!!

Very crowded with people, the water was very dirty with a film on the top from lotions, sunscreen, ect. I'd like to come back in the early winter.

Quick and easy. Roads closed but the walk to the trailhead is super easy. Please pick up your trash and keep the area clean.

hot springs were nice, top two pretty hot. however surprise to me, the road is closed for the winter maybe about 2 miles from the trailhead... so... lots of extra walkig

Totally over crowded, ransacked and ruined by people who do not follow the golden rule of coexisting nature (leave nothing, take nothing). Water quality is abysmal, super gross. Broken glass, trash, clothes and graffiti cover the place. It's a shame, because pictures from long ago show what a beautiful haven in the forest this once was. Now...ruined. Heartbreaking. Update 1/3- I returned on a weekday and found it much more of an oasis. The trash during the government shut down is still horrifying, but if you're able to find a quiet time to soak, it's much more enjoyable.
