Simple hike. Great for really anyone. Super relaxing and had some nice views. Definitely had quite a few mountain bikers so it’s important to be aware of your surroundings.

If you’re interested in trying to kill yourself in the winter time, then this is the hike for you. If covered in snow, it is the most uneven terrain to walk on. Dressing warm made no difference as each step was a balancing act. It was a battle but would likely never do this again in the winter time.

I enjoyed doing this particular hike! There are bikers you will occasionally have to share the trail with making for a dusty trail, but if you have a mask on you’ll be fine, and many in my experience were very kind and mindful of us hikers. There were storms rolling around making for much appreciated cloud coverage. Tons of bugs/mosquitos though, so bring bug spray!!!

This hike was underwhelming however still got us away from crowds. Lots of mountain bikers and a bit dusty. Some views of the river below. The falls was beautiful but had quite a few people. Found some nice river spots up above the falls. Probably wouldn’t do again but it was a nice easy hike for a rest day.

Honestly y’all, not so great. You’ll spend the 3.25 miles getting to Tumalo Falls looking for the illusive series of waterfalls along the way only to realize that you can only see the creek a handful of times on the journey. This trail is much better suited for joggers or cyclist as the almost entirely flat terrain & limited views makes for a pretty boring hike. If you’re still interested in seeing Tumalo Falls, I’d recommend just driving to the actual falls parking lot and doing to .5 mile walk up to the lookout. Safe your time and mileage for a hike that will be more worth your while.

Got a late start at noon, so there were quite a few families visiting the first waterfall, but the crowds dissipated as we continued to Happy Valley. Not that many mountain bikes, but again, it was late in the day. Mostly shaded trail with sounds and views of the river almost the entire hike. Stopped counting waterfalls after about 7. Beautiful gradual climb.

Well kept trail, lots of sunny spots with some shade. I did this hike on a Sunday afternoon and there were about an equal amount of hikers and mountain bikers. Not too heavily trafficked but there were crowds at the waterfall/near the top parking lot. There are bathrooms at the trail head.

Good trail, not great. The view of the creek is obscured by brush and trees for most of the hike. It’s very crowded with bikers. The waterfall is nice but at the lower falls there were tons of people crowding in a small area without masks. It wasn’t too buggy. It was very dusty. A mix of shade and open sun. If you do this hike do it early morning (before 9 am).

Trail is sun exposed for lobg stretches. Follows river for part of it. Some bugs, fair number if bikers. Overall enjoyable for adults, kids complained a bit. Bring enough water, sunscreen and a hat. You can also drive up to the waterfalls; a realization which resulted in a few extra whines from the kids.

Recommend to anyone looking for a nice nature walk. The waterfall is accessible by car but we enjoyed the walk through the woods. We mostly saw other mountain bikers and very few hikers. Great trail for bikes too. Lots of insects. Very dusty. Walk down to the lower waterfall trail and see the underside of the waterfall and get the view from the bottom!

The trail is an easy and well maintained hike. A bit busy as you get closer to the falls, with quite a few bikes to share the trail with. Just use good trail etiquette and all are happy.

Great trail! Also, the gate is now open so you can drive to the top with all the other people in the world! I recommend going off trail at the first waterfall lookout and hiking up the river to the bottom of the Waterfall. Nobody else was, so you will likely have it to yourself!

Family friendly trail that has views of the huge Tumalo Falls as well as the creek. Lots of unique views and experiences throughout the trail where you can go away from the path to put your feet in the water or skip rocks.

Right now the road to get to the parking lot is closed so you have to walk all the way up there which takes a little longer. Bring a lot of water because there’s no shade while walking up there. Once you get there you can actually go right down to the waterfall and hangout under it. It’s pretty neat

Tons of mosquitoes once you get about a mile up. Wish we had known, we would have come prepared. Otherwise, the trail was beautiful, good weather, busy but enough gaps between other hikers. We only made it halfway due to the mosquitoes, hope to come back and complete the trail.

Beautiful trail! Went today and got there around 9:30 am and barely saw anyone on the trail. The sound of the creek follows you the entire trail leading to the large waterfall at the end! Very fun trail to do with my dog. Highly recommend.

Love this hike. The majestic power you feel standing at the observation deck of the falls is so perfect. Steep incline up the switchbacks but fairly easy even for the amateur hiker. Kids did great, loved every minute.

The Falls itself is awesome. Make sure to find the trail that takes you to the base of the Falls once you arrive! Super cool. The hike itself is...meh. Mainly walking through forest with few scenic views. It does seem to be popular with mountain bikers though. I would have just driven to the falls if the road was open, but as of now hiking is the only way to get there!

Great easy hike out to a beautiful waterfalls. Small ups and downs most of the way with a short incline at the end to the top of the falls. There were mountain bikers occasionally we had to watch out for but still a good trail!
