A fun hike with kids especially now Suttle Lake Lodge is revamped and offers great lunches or dinner at the end of the hike.

I'm giving it 3 stars because it's the outdoors and it's easy. This is not a peaceful hike. Half of the loop is alongside the highway, which is right above the lake; so the sound of traffic is constant. The other half of the hike is through mostly campground, so you're walking through people's sites and around cars and campers. The campsite looks great! But for a someone who wants to take a nice, quiet hike, this ain't the hike for you. OTHER REVIEWS SAY THIS HIKE BUTTS UP TO BLACK BUTTE RANCH - IT DOES NOT!

Don't make my mistake and listen to front desk lady. Where sneakers or hiking boots and not your sandals. Beautiful hike. Nice and easy and mostly shaded.

Heavy traffic due to convenient day use area, camping, resort, and boat dock. Great running trail with 3 mile loop around the lake. Good for kayaking. Short walk from parking. View of Black Butte and patches of wildflowers. On your way through - Stop in at Black Butte Ranch for a meal and drinks next to a lake with sweeping mountain views.

Nice trail around the lake. Great for a casual hike.

This is an easy walk. Because of the lake's proximity to the highway, there is a regular hum of car and truck noise. A portion of the south half of the trail is through or adjacent to campgrounds

We did this fairly early in the day on our way home back to the coast from Sisters. It was a very pleasant and quiet walk in Oct. Because it was late in the season there were very few people around. Lots of mergansers though. It is definitely not 6 miles as stated.

Nice mellow trail around the lake. It is multi use so there were lots of mountain bikes and it runs through four campgrounds. Also one portion is close to the road so car noise gets loud there. Otherwise it's nice.

Nice flat trail that hugs the beautiful Suttle Lake. We encountered NO ONE today, but it's a Thursday. A few boats on the lake, a few campers but the trail was ours. The hike around the lake is really only about 3.5 miles, not 6.

Great hike for kids! The flat trail keeps them moving along and the proximity to the lake keeps it interesting for them. Do not count this trail out as a winter option.
