Sun Notch Trail is a 0.8 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Crater Lake, Oregon that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for walking and is accessible year-round.
Crater Lake National Park charges a fee to enter. Fees are $30 per vehicle (Winter Rate: $25) or $25 per motorcycle (Winter Rate: $15). Winter rates apply between Nov 1 - May 21. If you are entering on foot or bike the fee is $15 per person. You can also purchase a park specific annual pass for $55. This is a quick loop off of Rim Road to a terrific viewpoint over Crater Lake down to the Phantom Ship Island below. You'll have great views of the towering walls of the rim around you as you hike across a nice meadow to the edge of the rim.
There is a $15 to $20 fee to enter the National Park.
Follow the Park Rim Road east from the Visitor Center or Rim Village. When you pass Videa Waterfall keep an eye out for the trailhead on the next tight turn.
Nice little loop with a great closeup view of the Phantom Ship. Definitely worth the stop for this unique view of the lake!
