We did about half of the trail due to time constraints. I would take hiking poles if going again. Much of the time you are on loose rocks. Great views of the water and canyon.

Took the 95 N from Ontario, OR to the 71. The drive is simply stellar both ways. Trail is elevated along the Snake. Narrow. Trail plus the drive is well worth the majority of the day.
