Steens Mountain Summit is a 0.9 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Princeton, Oregon that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and bird watching and is best used from May until September.
September 24, 2020Decent views south of the Pueblo mountains and an OK view east towards Alvord lake. Some low growing pretty wildflowers. August 17, 2020Super easy, but slid a bit coming down hiking in my Chacos while my dog was pulling me downhill. Lol! It’s always a beautiful view except for the equipment up top. Waited out the storm for about 40 minutes before I hiked to the summit with my dog Summit!!

First to ReviewMostly fun to stand on the top that high. The trail up is short & not that interesting. The top is a bit noisy with equipment and generators. But the views are great.
