A retreat from the desert heat provides a great swimming spot for everyone! If you're tired of climbing at Smith Rock or burned out from mountain biking in the summer heat, then head on over to Steelhead Falls for a quick dip and a hike along a quiet desert river.
Loved this very easy hike, but I love water and falls. Will keep in mind for easy hike and fishing for my mom. Dogs loved all the water!
Absolutely beautiful-- but icy right now! We struggled on our way down with just hiking boots but made it alright. You might want to wait a bit to try again. Nice and short and good for older kids! The junipers are amazing.
This was a beautiful hike, however I would not call it kid friendly for kids very young. Most of it had drop-offs down to the river, which made me very nervous with my 2 and 5 year olds. My 10 year old did pretty good.
Beautiful, the falls are breathtaking.
Such a pleasant little hike. The falls is only 0.5 miles from the trailhead
nice short hike with some pools to wade in, a small beachy area and some cliffs to jump off, below the falls.
