HikingGreat!

Great hike. Wide easy trail, some stairs along the way to the falls. About a half mile there and a half mile back. It's a great 1 hour adventure! We were there just before sunset to see a big bird come out but we lost it in the trees. Hawk maybe?

From the parking lot to the falls is about .5 miles. It was supa pretty and it looks like it would be a great place to go swimming!

Beautiful desert scenery and waterfall. Enjoyed our not crowded weekday hike in April. Imagine it being more crowded during the weekends. Narrow trail doesn’t allow social distance easily in some parts. Exposed to sunshine which was wonderful today. Bring water.

Great trail, we walked the rim all the way down to the basalt spires and then hiked the trail on way back out to our pals house at top of entrance. So fun.

fun and family friendly. I love to take my time and play in the water when it's warm enough.

I was a bit dubious starting this and coming from PDX with magnificent falls in the Columbia River Gorge, but these falls are beautiful and totally worth it. The falls themselves are about 0.5 miles down the trail. We did the whole thing because why not and it was our last day on vacation, but if I were to do it again, I would probably only go max 0.1 or 0.2 miles past the falls where there are some of the best views. No ice or snow! Parking lot with plentiful parking at the start.

The walk from the parking lot to the falls is only .5 mile, and the trail goes along the river for around another .5 mile before it sort of peters out. the falls are incredibly gorgeous! Plenty of spots to dip in and go for a swim or even fish.

HikingGreat!

Trail was snow, ice & mud free. Please note that sections of the trail contain small loose gravel, scree. This makes traction tricky at times, poles aid to reduce this. The Deschutes River is not flowing at peak levels, but the falls still very impressive. Really nice canyon and river views, good trail and views downriver past the falls. The vault toilet at the parking area needs cleaning.

No ice on the trail as of 3/9/21. Short walk but can be steep/narrow in some areas. Awesome river/waterfall views. My 4 year old walked but needed holding.

We only walked to the falls but it was absolutely gorgeous! The trail was a bit icy at the beginning, we went back for our poles and made it up and down fine.

Short but scenic. It is steep enough so that it is worth bringing micro-spikes during winter months.
