This winter got icy!!
Busy, lots of dogs
As most people know this is one of if not the best hiking spot in Eugene. Beautiful view from the top and a moderate hike. My one issue is for such a heavily trafficked trail I wish there were better facilities. Of course that can't be expected so it remains a relative 5 star for me.
This is part of the ridge line trail system, and has the second most amazing views of the city and area behind mount pisgah.
What a great winter hike-- was treated to a bluebird sky surrounded by lower clouds, and trail wasn't too muddy at all. Steady climb but definitely do-able for kids and what a fun, beautiful summit!
If you're looking for a moderate hike with a great view, this is the one for you! I've done this hike several times, going up both sides (one is much steeper/more challenging than the other). Dog friendly, and always a great view at the top!
The hike is moderate, the most difficult part being the last 100' to the summit. The trails are beautiful and the view is spectacular. It's a great trail running trail and has 3 different trailheads to choose from, some easier than others. Worth it, especially on cloudy or foggy days as well as sunrise and sunset.
