Did this trail a couple years ago, plan to do it again when I visit this August.

Easy hike with a good payoff at the top. Well-maintained trail that is very manageable with kids.

Super busy trail with okay views at the top. We snuck this in on our way out of town. It was a walk in the park (literally) after the 25 miles we did the 2 prior days.

Climbed this trail on Feb 27th after work as there was a warm front rolling through Southern Oregon and temps in the upper 50’s with sunny skies were too much to resist. Mostly dry with a little muddy area about .75 miles up where the trailheads meet but other than that, perfect for a brisk climb up and a quick descent run down.

The veiw was absolutely amazing, but in the way down the stairs were pretty scary. There is a back way down but I think it wouldn't have been too steep and hurt the knees

The normal, easy path is straight ahead with beautiful views and a somewhat challenging incline. (Not if you trail run - can you believe those people? ) For a steeper hike, take the trail to the left. It’s a bit more challenging, and involves some light rock climbing if you choose to steer into it. Note: if you bring a camera to the hard section, bring your strap! I had to do it one handed and, while it was doable, it could have easily gone another way with how muddy it is during the early months of the year. Enjoy!

I bit muddy and slick on the steeper West trail right now. Busy on a nice weekend day, but a great trail as always.

Great trail moderate in activity level. It was wet and muddy today. The wind started to pick up once we got closer to the summit. The switchbacks were a bit slick on the way down. It was a fantastic day for a hike! Cold but nice!

A little muddy but no problem. Rocks to step up. Poles very helpful, especially since I have short legs. Some light snow and crunchy thin ice patches. Trail definitely doable. Went up harder side and near top is wear the rocky scramble started. Trail could be better marked on this side d/t people having made lots of side trails. Found zig zagging thru rocks at times, which is what made it more of a scramble. Great views. Was windy and a lil cold, but I was dressed for it. Going down stairs cut into rocks. Was nice and pretty cool too. Loved the forested part of trail on way down once past the stairs section. Great hike overall. Highly recommend this one. Difficult way up was fun and challenging.

great trail - i’ve been down at uo for about two months now and have been so excited to finally do this hike, and i was thoroughly impressed. it’s a moderately difficult hike that is the perfect length for a fun little hour workout. we went up around 3:30 to watch the sunset at 4:30 and the view from the top is probably one of the best views i’ve ever seen on a hike by far. i haven’t don’t many eugene hikes but this one is my favorite

Steep which was enjoyable given short duration. Very close to Eugene so a short commute. Definitely would do again. Incredible view. Highest point in Eugene. Amazing during sunset. Great view of the city + surrounding mountains. No trees blocking everything at the top too. Great for sunset.

It’s a fine trail. It’s pretty crowded, but has a nice view from the top. You’re also on a very set path most of the time so there isn’t much room for exploring.

It was slightly muddy with a little bit a maintenance happening but we were still able to go up and it was done on the way back. We’re both plus size moms who carried our 25lb+ kids there and back just fine so It’s definitely doable!

Beautiful in so many ways. Full of people, though, which is understandable because of how accessible and worthwhile it is. Would definitely recommend this one if you're in the area.

Wonderfully maintained trail with a nice shady ascent through Douglas Firs most of the way. The steps to the top can be a challenge, but worth the view!
