I was looking for a little more nature...most of this walk is on neighborhood sidewalks not on the trail or nature.

Happy Valley has a number of connected or almost connected trails running through its neighborhoods. Scott Creek Trail is one of the longer ones, and it is well marked. Once you are on the trail, you will be directed back to the trail when you exit into a neighborhood segment. The trail starts at the southwest end at Southern Lites Park (basketball, picnic, playground) and extends all the way to Happy Valley Park (very popular, large city park) on the northeast end. There are other connecting trail options in the middle as well as at the north - wetlands park for example.
