One of my favorite places to paddle on the Oregon Coast! Always see tons of birds and other wildlife. Suitable for kayaks of all types, canoes, and paddleboards. If you are paddling a board with fins or a kayak with a rudder they may drag in places during low tide on the ocean side of the dam. If you go during snowy plover nesting season be prepared by not bringing your dog and not getting out of your boat in the dune area. Nesting season restrictions are in effect from March 15-September 15.

Took us about 5 hours, taking our time. Little to no current when we went early in the day. Lots of log snags and dam portage, which added to the fun. Saw the river otters and lots of egrets, ospreys, and kingfishers. Really a relaxing float.

Had a wonderful kayak trip today, started at the northern end of the lake and paddled all the way to the ocean and back.
