Did and overnight (7/22/19) - Beautifully peaceful landscape. Hot but great shade almost the entire way. BRING BUG SPRAY/LONG SLEEVE + PANTS. Couldn’t stop walking without being covered in mozzies. They’ll stab you through your underwear and dig into the wrinkles in your hands. I walked out of there with at least 200 bites. 4 stars without the bugs.

Landscape was a little thick for my taste, but the lakes were beautiful. The best part was seeing a bald eagle fly over about a half mile in.

There is a plethora of trails that run through this area! It is very important you speak with the forest rangers before you head out and (if you can) obtain a map of this area or bring an experienced guide. I have done sections of this trail all summer in 2010 and it is absolutely gorgeous! Its also a good idea to take with you a bottle of 100% deet, for this stuff is worth its weight in gold.
