This trail is a lovely hike, at least the first several miles of it. You hike along the highway for a good portion of the trek, so the sound of cars in the background is fairly persistent. There's a point where the trail ends at the National Forest Development Road 2044, which is an improved gravel road. If you're not sure where you're supposed to be going from there (there's no direction), then it's easy to get lost and double back on yourself.
