Walk along the beach past unique homes to a place where seals like to sun. The three mile sand spit at the mouth of the Siletz River has a remote feel even though it's within easy reach of some of Oregon's most exclusive beachfront homes. Wildlife, especially harbor seals and shorebirds, are often seen in the Siletz Bay National Wildlife Refuge just inside the spit.

Just a nice looooong walk into the beach. Fairly uneventful but that is nice sometimes.

A beach walk that offers views of seals at the very end of the spit. Keep a respectful distance! I recommend walking back on the river side of the spit for a better view of the wildlife. Eventually the river side turns into a small road.

Such a beautiful beach that is dog friendly! We only saw a few other people, so I was able to let my fur-baby run free! Saw a whale spurting in the distance and two sea lions playing in the waves! Easy and relaxed walking! #lifeisgood

I’m not as fond of just walking down the sandy beach. It looked like it went on and on so wasn’t into it. Not much scenery.

Primarily a beach hike but the beginning includes a nice wooded walk along the slough and if you follow my recording the return back includes some nice dune sections. Enjoyed watching the birds and seal at the top of the peninsula.

We had 8 walkers on this trail. Some were more prepared then others. Easy to moderate walk.

This is primarily a three mile walk in the sand. There is a gravel path to start from the parking lot to the beach but once you are on the beach it’s tough soft sand conditions to get to the sea lions at the bay. Take plenty of water and be prepared for the conditions. Fog will make it hard to see the exit point (50B) when you head back. There are also shops at Salishan that you can rent bikes, paddle boards and kayaks.

After a .5 easy hike through the golf course and past the bay and meadows, you walk up a short hill to land on empty beach. We ran out of time to make it to the end because we walked a long the beach which can be quite tiresome on your feet and calves if you are not used to it! The waves were amazing and fog rolled in and gave us a full double rainbow on the way back. Good moderate fast-paced beach walk before a day of traveling. Beach walk.

Pleasant walk. Great wave watching. Tide was high so didn’t go the entire way. Beat the spring break crowd!

This is a great nature trail that starts at The Marketplace at Saishan and takes you to the beach. From there you can head north to the end of the Salishan Spit or south into Gleneden Beach. This is definitely not a hike by any means but if you are looking for a peaceful walk through nature this is it.

I'm sure the resort is beautiful and has amazing views, but this hike is basically walking on the beach...

If you start at the Salishan Spa parking lot, it's 6 miles to go out and back. Nice hike. You start along the golf course, going through the woods, then a long walk through a hilly residential neighborhood to the end of the road, then on to the beach to where the seals are.

I love the Salishan Resort and would recommend this getaway and this hike to anyone. Very cool to have the ocean on one side and he bay on the other.
