Rowena Plateau Trail is a 2 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near The Dalles, Oregon that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until September.
Note: Dogs are not allowed on this trail. Gorgeous views of the river and seasonal wildflower viewing opportunities. This trail is easy but it can get windy.
No TH bathrooms. No fees. No dogs allowed. Nice views on a clear day. Can be windy
Did this on 9/19/20. It was a short, easy hike - just around two miles out and back starting from the crest viewpoint. It offers some beautiful views and I'd definitely recommend it to everyone. There were a lot of dry grass and plenty of dry flowers, so I am excited to check this place out in the Spring when the flowers are blooming. There are also a few very short side trails as well but some were closed.
Nice and easy. Was there on Aug 1, and no wildflowers left, but still a good spot. Very windy.
This trail is super easy to hike. It was super windy at the top but made for an excellent experience! Looking out over th edge onto the Gorge from that high up with nothing but endless green and yellow brown rolling hills. This was my favorite hike next to Lost Lake Butte in Oregon! hiked 9/2019
