This is definitely a multi-use trail. You have to be really careful walking up and down the hills because at any moment a mountain bike could come racing over the summit. There are horses as well. I was there mid-morning on a weekday and it was already pretty heavily trafficked. But I’m giving this 5 stars because it is a fantastic little urban getaway that offers so much. The trails are also very well marked. If you’re looking for a quiet jaunt through the woods though, I’d go somewhere else.

This is a large suburban nature park with a 620’ foot peak in outer Southeast Portland. It is also home to an underground reservoir of drinking water for the city. There are 9 miles of well maintained trails through meadows and forests that provide something for everyone: paved wheelchair accessible trails from the nature center to the high point of Powell Butte, plus plenty of gravel and dirt trails for dog walkers, bird watchers, mountain bikers and horseback riders. The park planners also managed to make it seem isolated from the city surrounding it.

Nice loop through the forest and with pretty views of the mountains.
