Potato Hill Loop is a 5.9 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Sisters, Oregon that features a great forest setting and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options.
We accidentally went the opposite way around the loop from what this trail said (we went counterclockwise), but were glad we did! It was nice to get the bigger incline done at the beginning and have a gradual descent the rest of the way. Also accidentally followed a snowmobile trail at the SE corner, but figured out our mistake and got back on track in not too long. Definitely worth it to take the road up to the viewpoint on Potato Hill, the highest point of the trek. Crunchy snow today, so just having crampons probably would have been fine instead of our snowshoes, but beautiful and sunny out!
