Note: Users have reported that . there are road closures along Laying Creek Rd when arriving from the west. Super short hike, partly on an old spur road. However, the view of the falls was breathtaking and well worth the stop. Once arriving at the Pinard Falls TrailHead, follow the trail (old spur road) off to the left for a little over a 1/3 of the hike. You will then see a trail to your left, marked by a backwards sign, which will take you the rest of the way to Pinard Falls.

Beautiful hike down to waterfall and back up to trailhead! Wonderful sunny day today and road is very well maintained with small sized gravel.

Great trail - short, steep, sweet. Definitely muddy - waterproof shoes are a lifesaver. View of the falls is really spectacular!! Small viewing area (so not quite covid - friendly) but worth every bit of the steepness!

Really stunning waterfall - easy hike but very muddy (in the spring) so be sure to wear boots! It’s best to see these falls (spirit, moon and Pinard) early in the morning or later in the day as to avoid the crowds. You won’t be shoulder to shoulder really but if you want a quiet hike don’t come mid-day (especially on a weekend). We hike with two little boys and they ddI great. Having water proof boots on really help! They even walked down with me to the bottom of the falls to get a little wet from the falls mist! Muddy to get there but really fun!

As of 4/8/20 the roads to get to the trails have been cleared, but you have to take specific roads to get to the actual trailheads. We drove around for hours trying to find a way there, so let me save you some time.. Assuming you are coming from Hwy 58 (I guess it depends on which direction you are driving from), there are several forest service roads you can take that will supposedly get you to the trailheads. Right now there was only one path that was not blocked off by fallen trees. Off of Hwy 58, you need to take Forest Service Road 5840 for about 5 miles, this turns into Laying Creek rd for half a mile, then you continue on Forest Service rd 17 for about the remainder of the drive. You can get to Spirit Falls, Moon Falls, and Pinard Falls all from this area. The roads have been cleared of fallen trees and there is almost no snow anywhere, it is however, very muddy.. The falls were awesome and are very full. Good luck, be safe, and keep 6 feet apart!

If you can get past mud, snow, and freezing overspray from the waterfall this is the most incredible place. I came in February and there is so much water it was unbelievable!

My favorite of the Spirit, Moon, and Pinard Falls area. Big enough pools for a shallow swim or dip and breathtaking water fall. Water is chilly but definitely worth at least dipping your toes into.

Great trail! We hiked Moon and Spirit Falls today also. Kiddos enjoyed all the trails and each waterfall is very different. Looking forward to going again when the water is flowing more.

Beautiful! Absolutely loved this waterfall! Did not love the hike back up! But well worth it. Even had some rock art to look at!

This trial zig zags down hill all the way to the falls. Be ready to climb back up when you head out!

All three of these falls are within a mile of each other. They're all gorgeous and easily accessible now that the roads are clear.

Felt like I was in a fairyland. Relatively easy aside from climbing down and back up to see the waterfall up close, but it's 100% worth it!

We headed out early today to hike the “Trifecta!” And we were not disappointed!! We read a lot of the reviews for all of the Falls! Very EASY to get to if you use Google Directions! We also left the navigation on. All trails are one after the other! And there is a sign that states the mileage to Moon and Pinard after Spirit...Granted there is not a “distinctive sign” for Spirit Falls but if you track to mileage the trail sign is easy to spot! We hiked Spirit Falls first. Then drove to Moon Falls (big sign when you arrive) and the drove up to Pinard! (Good signage for this trail too) Falls were beautiful!! Doing all three trails was a nice workout and peaceful hike! This is the perfect time of year to hike these trails when it’s dry! We headed back home going towards Cottage Grove instead of taking the 5847 back to Hwy 58. Much nicer route home as we live in Eugene. Awesome day!

Love it. Great pool to float in, but best seen with full light in June midday.

Beautiful waterfall! The hike wasn’t too bad, but at the end it does get steep and I had to slide down so wear shoes with good traction.

We tried to drive to this Trail after hiking Spirit Falls, but we could not make it down the road with the snow. So if you do this Trail in early spring, bring chains!

Slick areas when rain saturates clay. The falls were gorgeous at day break!

Agree with the comment directly below me, the trail is VERY muddy right now don't underestimate it. Hiking boots preferred but my friend did it in Nike's and made it! 10/10 worth it though, beautiful falls and very full right now due to all the rain.

Very pretty falls once you get there with a lot of water running over. Trail is VERY muddy right now. Hike is closer to 1.5 miles round trip, going all downhill to falls and all uphill back.

2nd best of the three falls in this area. see also: Moon falls and spirit falls. Out of the 3 this is the longest and most difficult hike. Isn't to bad though, could be considered an easy, but might be difficult for youngens. Good payoff at the end, with a nice tall falls and a bench to relax and enjoy. Hiked in late March and it wasn't too muddy, but falls were full.

See my review of these 3 closely spaced waterfall hikes under 'Moon lake hike'. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I thought Moon lake was the prettiest- which is yours...

The trail is 5 stars, but the mosquitoes are pretty heavy. I wouldn't suggest doing this without plenty of bug repellent! The waterfall was so pretty though and I'd love to do it again.
