Paulina Falls was striking in the snow. Saw like 3 other people the whole time. Went up the Paulina Peak trail but couldn’t really see anything. The lakes are beautiful right now with the snow falling.

Scenic drivingGreat!

Beautiful waterfalls! The upper portion was great but if you are able to do the steeper .25 mile path down to the lower level, very much worth it!!! Clean restroom at the parking lot too.

Easy trail and not busy early in the morning. We went in the fall. I’m sure it’s much larger in the spring.

Really rewarding Falls for such an easy stroll! Thanks to all the unmuzzled humans out there! It’s nice to connect with people who aren’t playing in to the control. Anyone hiking with a mask on really should stop and think about what you are doing in nature in a muzzle.

Very interesting urban-looking waterfall. Likes like a weird industrial explosion happened and no one bothered to clean it up and now there’s just water flowing over it. Not worth going out of the way for.

Wow! Such beautiful views. Shaded and cool with a series of switchbacks down to feel the fresh spray of waterfalls. Please wear your masks.

Short hike to upper falls, equally short hike/walk to lower falls. Worthwhile stop; not too busy on trail.

Did both the left trail (down to the base of the waterfall) and right trail (which continues to a view of Paulina Lake and lots of obsidian!) Nice, well-maintained trail. Hiked at 9am with a toddler and 2 babies. It was pretty chilly, Trail is mostly shaded, very doable with young kids but be careful, one side of the trail is usually a drop off/cliff. If the first fee booth is closed, visitors need to pay the $5 at the visitors center.

Great hike, which we expanded to catch the other highlight (Paulina Falls, a beautiful cascade and plunge 60' double waterfall) at the Paulina Lake area. The trail has a slight incline for the first 2.5 and last miles, with a stretch of steeper gain in the mile in between. Aside from the falls near the trailhead and the peak at the trail end, the hike is mainly through dense forest with few views and would warrant maybe 3 stars. The falls are beautiful and the peak offers excellent views of the surrounding lakes and peaks and the nearby large obsidian lava flow.

HikingSnow

We got caught in a snow/hail/sleet storm on Sunday 06.28.20. Easy hike from the visitors center, but some of the trail is narrow and right along the edge. I’m afraid of heights/falling and the stuff falling from the sky didn’t help while we were on the trail. We only ran into one other group, probably due to the weather. Lots of picnic tables and a clearing at the falls.
