Nice trail through shady woods. Lots of ferns and some daisies in a few sunny spots. Rocky on the way up to the loop and then pretty smooth single track most of the way around the loop. Saw about 10 other people on our 1:15 hike. Easy hike if you are in shape. Elevation topped out about 740 feet for a roughly 400 foot gain. Will do it again some day.

Great short hiking trail. A rocky, slow run but great for a quick dose of nature near the city.

Very kept up trail! The rest stop in the parking lot could use a little love but all around a nice trail for walking

A great local hike alternative to the more densely peopled areas like Forest Park. The vertical gain is on the lighter side but definitely enough to help maintain an elevated heart rate. Given what gain there is plus some runs of rather uneven terrain I would rate this as potentially more on the side of moderate than easy depending on your level of fitness / physical ability. The entire trail is shrouded in tree cover so it’s probably cooler in the summer.

For being so close to the city, this is a fun hiking trail - good for trail running as well. There’s a decent amount of elevation gain, but it’s fairly easy. No dogs allowed. Forest scenery - not many views.

Beautiful trail! The inclines are perfect and the trees really do protect you from the rain.

around 11am mid November. this is a great quick trail for all ages. it is a little rocky at times but its not so bad, just watch out when it rains. it was raining but there's enough trail cover not to bother you too much.

3/9/2019 Trail is super muddy in some sections--trekking poles were helpful to keep from slipping around to much. Saw a pregnant doe, a few Robin's, and many gray squirrels.
