Hike this trail at your own risk! I won't lie, this hike was very beautiful. However, it seems to be abandoned? The steps are loose or have fallen. The trail looks as if there is no trail and you are walking threw a dried out creek. It's very slippery and the bridge is leaning far to one side.

I followed all of the signs for the loop and the last sign led me out to a residential sidewalk. Half of the “loop” is on a sidewalk uphill. I would suggest just turning around when you hit residential because then at least on the way back you get nature, not houses and cars uphill for a mile. The forested trail was nice, a few streams and black berry bushes. At times it was a very narrow trail but fun to maneuver. Watch out for the stair steps, some are very loose.

Very Rugged, a nice hike in the middle of the subarea... took the dogs with us, had to walk the dogs single file, because of the trail narrowness. a defiant trail, fun times!!!

Amazing little trail well hidden in suburbia. Steep at times, wear good shoes that will help. Mostly shaded from hot sun. Good hike if you’re short on time but want to visit nature.

This trail is really bumpy, I would not say it’s suitable for children. It was super overgrown. My pup and I still had a nice time though. There was no one on the trail early morning, but some children playing at the play structure in the beginning.

Took the dog on leash after reading about this neat, short hike hidden in a neighborhood on HikeOregon. Beautiful weather. Trail quickly becomes lush and “wild” just one minute after walking on a residential street. Reminds me of Reed College Canyon in that way. Conditions today were fine. Has not rained in over a week and was dry and sunny today.

The loop is only 1.5 miles without the out and back options. Stairs are in disrepair, muddy. Beautiful scenery.

Quick hike without having to travel too far, and has a great mountain view.

Palomino Loop sneaks through forested open spaces in West Linn's Hidden Springs neighborhood. The final segment of the loop is a sidewalk through a nice neighborhood. For how skinny the open spaces are, it's amazing how natural they look. I enjoyed the jumble of stairs that reminded me of something rigged up for a tree house. There is an optional out and back to Hidden Springs Road on the north side that is a little steep, but the scenery is nice there. There is a run-down gazebo and a picnic table near this north exit. The scenery is surprisingly diverse. Some sections almost look like a jungle, covered with ivy and vines. A few bits of trail are eroded or slanted to one side, so it's not the best for people with balance problems.
