This is a nice walk or mountain bike ride along a wetland full of birds with a return along the Willamette River. This is a great place to go bird watching. You will follow a path along the east side of a wetland area where you may see some Flycatchers or even ospreys that nest nearby. Once you get to the northern parking area you will turn around and then return via the beautiful Springwater bike trail.
The best parking area is the one on the corner of Southeast 7th Ave and Sellwood Ave near the baseball field. There is no fee to park here.
Saw some hyna on da trail. she was doing yoga at sunset right on the bridge. Normally I’d try to mack on her, but something about da reflection of da sunset in n the water, low key, had me in my feelz dawg. Serio. I chose nature dis time. And sabes que? I wasn’t mad at it foo. No worriez, holmez. If da pinta taught me anything, it was patience homie, for real. Luvs out there somewhere 4 me just like it is 4 everyone. Hang in there locos y locas.
Beautiful and nicely cut back, people were conscientious of mask wearing and bring little binoculars so you can see the family of 8 herons.
Only drawback is the portion on the bike corridor, difficult as a pedestrian! Otherwise beautiful, especially with the fall colors
Great easy trail.. not super trafficked, nice loop. Really enjoyed it!
I loved this simple and beautiful trail. I wandered off of the paved path (turning left instead of right into the habitat area) to walk a trail through the trees alongside the Willamette. While in there I came face to face with a dear. Then I popped back out onto the paved path and made my way back to the Clearwater trail. Walked/hiked it in the rain and really enjoyed my time.
Pretty easy trail, but good when hiking with folks that don't hike very often. The unexpected thing i saw today on the trail were three Deer!! Pretty cool. It's also interesting to nose around the creepy crematorium building. I would take my parents here, or walk my dog if I were close, but wouldn't go to far outta my way to do it.
