Did this as part of a 30-miler 10/9/20. Green Point Mtn is one of the best views in Oregon. From Wahtum, I’d recommend taking 406B at first and then turning right on 409 when you get to the intersection. Forest Dept website lists 409 as permanently closed but I saw no indication of that and it seemed as well maintained as any of these trails. Trail markers are confusing at a few points and the trails at North Lake do not meet up exactly like the map shows so be sure to check back in after intersections to be sure you’re going the desired way. If hiking from Wahtum, continuing from North Lake to Mt Defiance only adds another 6mi total. The trail as shown above (Wahtum to North Lake) should likely not be rated as difficult as it has only relatively gradual elevation changes and a few very minor rock patches.
