not too muddy at all. one of the bridges along the trail is still down so had to redirect to get across the creek and back on track. then there was another blocked trail further down which added 1.5 miles to the hike... at least it's pretty out there!

Pretty nice loop...a portion of it is closed, so you’ll have to circumvent by going back on the North Horse Loop.

Nice trail with great scenery. Narrow trail at parts. A variety of bridges kept the trail interesting. Part of the trail is walking along side of a road but it is only a short distance.

Nature trips

Bathroom at main entrance Heavy traffic Moderate noise pollution The trails are well maintained dirt and rock paths with bridges and stairs for the steep climbs depending on the multiple trails you can take. This large route offers the sounds of birds and thick moss covered vegetation full of thimble berroes, trailing black berries and red huckleberry bushes all of which are getting close to being ripe. A great place to get some exercise, connect with nature, and enjoy the outdoors without leaving the city.

Overall a good hike and well maintained trails. North creek trail was muddy. I would avoid Boones ferry rd next time I go. Went in the morning and not too busy.

This trail is actually excellent if you have a dog. Yes, you have to walk along a road for a very short period (.2/4.7 miles), but there are bike lanes and sidewalks for you to follow - the rest of the trail is like a regular hiking trail. Plus, you’re not obligated to go along the road. There are many other trails at Tryon Creek. The scenery is all pretty uniform across the park, but beautiful if you love the forest. I completed most, if not all, of the trails at Tryon Creek in a few hours and would recommend this one just because it covers the most of the park and allows you to experience the majority of what it has to offer. Tryon Creek is currently closed due to COVID. I actually ran into a park ranger who told me I needed to leave, but she was super nice about it.

Trail was super busy but very friendly. Lots of adorable dogs! :):) I really loves that the trails intertwine so nicely. Very easy to create your own distance and level of difficulty. I took a novice hiker along and we both had a great time.

First to Review

This is an easy trail other than the slight inclines. We probably came during the office season so we didn’t see any wildflowers. We saw two squirrels and 1 bird. However, on a hot day we had a lot of shade cover and breeze. We did cross multiple bridges over small creeks. Great for a family hike and dogs on leash.
