Hiking trails in the park can be muddy during wet weather.
Nice walk a little busy. The bridge in the park was off limits because a safety concern.
Fairly easy trail. Well maintained. Good for walking or running. Dog friendly. The scenery at Tryon Creek is pretty uniform across the park, but beautiful if you love the forest. There are also many other trails nearby. Tryon Creek is currently closed due to COVID.
very good trail! dog friendly and moderately trafficked. very shady so wear a coat or long sleeve.
There are a lot of trail switches in this route, so be prepared to check your phone for directions often. Trails were well-maintained. Overall very nice for today’s trail walk/jog.
Excellent! only complaint is really hard to keep track bc very little signage and trail map hard to see on certain turn offs
very nice trail, about 0.3m more than it says. if you know the name of the trails or check the trail map when you cross a path it's easy to follow. almost half the trail is quite narrow, so you have to watch for others coming the opposite direction of you. lots of nice shade throughout the trail
Great shady trail with light morning traffic. Dog friendly on a leash. Lots of trail runners and it is narrow in spots.
first time on trail. went opposite way and didn’t see any north horse trail signs until almost back at trailhead, then saw many! Was on an (intermittent) trail run and had to check map a lot. trail was almost empty (noon on a thursday), all shaded, lots of little bridges, lots of ups and downs but not too steep. sometimes narrow. about 70 degrees and cloudy. bushes sometimes poking out onto trail. mostly packed dirt with some roots and steps. beautiful and would recommend. ran alongside my pup who had to run behind me sometimes.
3.6 miles. Pleasant on a warm summer day because it is all shaded. Easy to moderate, depending on your pace. Nice hike to take a dog on - not too strenuous or long for the 4-legged type.
Hard to tell what trail to follow to complete this loop while running, it’s a combo of multiple trails. Had to keep looking at my phone (this app) to tell if I was following the right one.
Located in my favorite park to hike this trail gives you a good view of all the park has to offer. Perks include crossing many bridges including the terry ryan suspension bridge.
After a year in Spokane exploring all the trails, even those inside the city limits, I decided I would do the same back in the Portland area. It's funny how you can live in a place your whole life and not bother to explore things practically in your backyard. Tryon Creek Natural Area is a pleasant place to visit when driving an hour out of town to a more remote trailhead isn't an option. I started from the south-most entrance on Andrews Road so I could hike the biggest loop possible. One down, many to go!
