IMPORTANT NOTE: Users have reported that there are temporary closures in this area. Visit the park USDA site to check on trail conditions: https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/crgnsa/recarea/?recid=30026 A great loop very close to Portland (~30 min). Definitely plan on an early arrival due to parking and heavy use. Beautiful hike with a quick but steep ascent to the top of the waterfall. The classic "money shot" of Multnomah Falls is immediately accessible after parking. The remainder of the hike is to the top, for a small platform vantage point, which is very worthwhile. The bridge that crosses in front of the waterfall is just a few minutes worth of scrambling after the entrance.

Cannot fairly review the trail due to closures caused by forest fires. I can only assume the “upper” Trail portion was as nice as we WERE able to enjoy

Very pretty, but way too crowded. Full of rude people.

It’s pretty. Not sure why it’s rated as moderate it’s very easy. It’s not a hike just a crowded walk.

An all time favorite of mined that spurred my love for hiking. Offers a nice challenge with a gorgeous view from the top.

Beautiful hike - quick but steep ascent to the top of the waterfall. The classic "money shot" of Multnomah Falls is immediately accessable after parking. The remainder of the hike is to the top, for a small platform vantage point which was very worthwhile. The bridge that crosses in front of the waterfall is just a few minutes worth of scrambling after the entrance. I arrived at about 8am on a Monday in February and I was the only one there - no crowds to worry about. Felt like a moderate workout. Highly recommend this wonderful hike!

Loved the view from the bottom, truly amazing!! But they don’t tell you there’s no good or average views from the top of the falls!! You do get to see the river and peaks across the way though! If hill climbs aren’t a problem for you I’d do it and take the longer way around but for someone with heart and lung issues I would of preferred to keep viewing from the lower section.

Always a great beautiful loop very close to Portland (~30 min). Definitely plan on an early arrival due to parking and heavy use.

This is a beautiful out and back with a high elevation gain. The 11 switchback keeps your sweat rolling for sure. The view from the lookout platform at the top of the falls is unbeatable.

Very cold and rainy day today. Besides the down pour twice it was a decent hike/run. Not challenging at all but good mileage hike. The summit of Larch Mountain was not desirable and very disappointing.

We had a blast hiking the loop with our 2 small dogs. No ice and a couple smaller slick mud spots. All in all a fabulous hike to finish off 2019! So many spectacular views.

If you are short on time do not hike to the top. Wet and muddy if you do plan to hike to the top. The best view is at the bottom and on the bridge. Not in a rush eat at the Restaurant.

Great hike - very crowded typically. But once you get past the first bridge it’s less crowded and when you go further than the overlook there’s even less people

Great trail but do to past fire many railings are missing, falling apart. Narrow pathways in a few locations tad nervous when passing people or having smaller children. Otherwise great views on way up, better so than the actual end.

Fun hike with the kids! Go early or off season to really enjoy, otherwise the crowds can detract from the experience.
