A great loop very close to Portland (~30 min). Definitely plan on an early arrival due to parking and heavy use. Beautiful hike with a quick but steep ascent to the top of the waterfall. The classic "money shot" of Multnomah Falls is immediately accessible after parking. The remainder of the hike is to the top, for a small platform vantage point, which is very worthwhile. The bridge that crosses in front of the waterfall is just a few minutes worth of scrambling after the entrance.

Short, easy, and beautiful! Did this trail multiple times before the 2018 fire.

Drove down for the hike this weekend. It’s closed along with everything in that area on hwy 30. Roads to access were blocked and staffed at many points.

(When open) Incredibly crowded every time I go but nice views.

I’ve done this trail several times. When it’s open it’s crowded with tourists and the trail (after the top bridge) is too narrow for the amount of people coming and going. It’s lots of switchbacks and elevation gain. When you get to the top you can enjoy the river and their is a deck to lookout over the top of the falls (if you’re brave).

Busy trail. can be a lot of stairs for people that are novice hikers.

Gorgeous falls and a short little hike to the bridge. Being so close to Portland I thought it would be super crowded, but there was practically nobody there. Would loved to have done the whole loop but it was getting too late and I didn’t have a flashlight.

Unreal little day hike. But it will be crowded which we always try to avoid.

Beautiful day. Of course no crowds but trail traffic was increasing by 10am.

Steep climb but mostly paved and well maintained. Only a little mud in one section.

Saturday March 7, 2020 at 11am : Did this hike on a wet day, rain was light but the path was wet some spots muddy. Trail wasn't overly busy until around 12:30pm. Incline pretty much all the way to the view point with 11 or so switchbacks. Waterfall is beautiful, but you don't have to hike all the way up to enjoy it. Definitely will do this one again.

A lot of switchbacks but very much worth the views!

Great trail, super easy to get to the first landing bridge that you see in all of the photos. A bit more of an intense incline and uphill hike to get to the top. I had to stop every other switchback or so for a minute or two to catch my breath. Other than that absolutely beautiful, worth the time for the views, and great exercise.
