Mulkey Creek Trail is a 4 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Corvallis, Oregon that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Old growth forrest trail top of a hill overlooking the valley. The first 1.3 miles of the trail is on a flat gravel path or road, the second half of the hike is in the old growth forest following a well maintained single wide trail along several switch-backs to the top of the hill. This is the harder part of the hike, as the elevation rises sharply as you get to the top. As you enter the trail at the end of the road, stay to your left. You'll know you are on the right trail if you cross the Mulkey Creek trail bridge as you start your hike up the trail. You have several spots to rest and see the view of the valley as there are at least two bench rest areas along the way. At the top, the trail seems to keep going, but in reality loops back to the trail for you hike down.

The Mulkey creek trail is available to hikers year round, bikes and horses during the dry season.
In Corvallis, Oregon take Harrision Blvd. west until you cross 53rd Street. After crossing 53rd look for the Bald Hill parking lot on your left about .3 miles up the road. From the parking area, cross the bridge and take the immediate trail on your right. This gravel path is a public easement through the Diamond A ranch land. You will travel .6 miles along the edge of a pasture, then take a left on a gravel road. Stay on this road heading west for .7 miles, until it dead-ends at the trailhead.
Flat easy gravel for the first ~1 mile. Then some pretty green views and switchbacks.
Great Mountain Biking for amateurs or people who are ready to step it up from flat trails! Multiple spots to take breaks on the way up. Bring a snack and something to drink, and relax at the picnic benches. There’s multiple on the way up.
Stunning forest, good views & fun trail. Easy - would definitely do again
Nice trail for a January hike. Only one mud hole to skirt around. I saw a large flock of turkeys and other wild birds. Mild showers for most of the hike. Clean trail made the hike very enjoyable.
WARNING! Car broken into...both back windows smashed and (major) items stolen. Parked at the trail head on Sunday 9/1 at approx 6pm. Returned to car 90 minutes later. Someone had already called the local sheriff who was on the scene when we arrived. Unfortunately, the odds of finding the (explicit) sicko who did it and recovering any of our belongings are slim to none. This happens MUCH too often. Second time for us. Wish there was something that could be done, separate from bringing several hungry pit bulls to sit in the car. Ugh so frustrating..... Relatively easy hike with small amount of elevation gain which is nicely spread out.
nice trail. lots of poison oak nearby, particularly as you approach Fitton
A very convenient hike, the first part is on a gravel path through bypassing farmland, the second mile crosses Mulkey Creek to an oak savanna with songbirds and turkey vultures. An option at the loop is to continue for another 1.5 miles to Fittin Green.
