Mount Tabor Loop Trail is a 1.5 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Portland, Oregon that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until December. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Take a ride or a walk around this beautiful city park which holds 3 different reservoirs for Portland. Although there is no swimming in the reservoirs for obvious reasons, this park has plenty of other things to offer the whole family including picnic areas, a dog park, monuments, and public art, and even volleyball and tennis areas. There is a small visitor center and bathrooms above the amphitheater. Accessibility: This trail is partially paved and partially dirt. The width is typically at least three feet. There are multiple steep sections on this trail with a grade estimated over 12% that may make it not navigable for manual wheelchairs and strollers. From the pictures there appear to be some areas with staircases. There is a shorter more accessible trail which is all a non-vehicular paved surface and mostly a grade of less than 5% that can be viewed here: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/oregon/mount-tabor-paved-trail
Take I-85 east to 60th ave from downtown Portland at the 58th Ave Exit. You will need to take a left onto Glisan then a right onto 60th. Take 60th to Belmont and turn left onto it. Go east on Belmont up the hill to 69th and Belmont where you will take a right onto 69th and head up the hill into the park.
Lots of options with trails! Absolutely beautiful views. For all skill levels mild-moderate. Lots of fur babies too.
Love walking through Mount Tabor as it is always super clean..I picked up less than half a bag of trash which is awesome. Kind of a strange trail pattern. There were endless forks where the more likely one was never the one on the app. Either way it made for a great hike. Make sure to follow map closely. Lots of runners and all were respectful. Trail was pretty muddy in parts, definitely recommend hiking boots. Also a few short steep hills as well.
Well traveled. Some paved some mud. Steep up and down in a couple of locations. Recommend hiking boots
Lovely trail! Folks in the city are afraid of each other. Rarely a response to my friendly “hello”! Loosen up, Portland!
Hardly anyone was wearing masks - it’s a hilly park, meaning a lot of people breathing heavily while walking past without face coverings.
Hillier than I thought. Lots of great trails to just wander on. Pretty great.
