BEST HIKE I HAVE EVER BEEN ON. Went in October of last year and it was still wonderful

Did this hike the end of October. It was about 50 degrees and sunny - perfect for this hike. It is a quick uphill with lots of stairs. Views are amazing. The switchbacks to come down could be hot if doing this hike in the afternoon. Wonderful geology all along the trail. Fun to watch the rock climbers along the end of the trail. If you aren’t cardio fit, this probably isn’t the trail for you.

Fun trail! Misery Ridge lives up to its name- so many switchbacks! Definitely recommend layers; we hiked it in October and were sweating and in T-shirts on the way up, but coming back down on Mesa Verde the wind made it very chilly. Bring water and make sure you tie your hair back :)
