Great trail, decent inclines. Can be challenging if you aren’t seasoned but it’s not overwhelming at all. At the time I went the trail that connects north horse to Lewis and Clark was close so you lose a little over half a mile of hiking, but you can just follow North Horse Loop back around and keep going.

Make sure to pay attention to the switch in trails. Also, my GPS said this was closer to 4 miles.

Super fun little inner-city hike. I took the pup out with me and he loved it. Lots of traffic but that didn’t bother me.

Fairly easy trail. Well maintained. Good for walking or running. Dog friendly. The scenery at Tryon Creek is pretty uniform across the park, but beautiful if you love the forest. There are also many other trails nearby. Tryon Creek is currently closed due to COVID.

early october around 11:30. this was a pretty good hike, not too steep and very pretty. lots of little critters and great views since it's following a ravine. went with a teenager and a younger kid and they were good though the trails are a little skinny so when other people are crossing you really have to stop and let each other pass. and runners fly by so be careful around them. but over all great new place to hike! on a popular day parking is a little tough but theres extra street parking.

This is a beautiful woodsy area with a lot of bridges. It’s charming and enjoyable. I loved it in the early evening.

This was the perfect hike for me. It was cool and shady. The sounds of traffic quickly faded away and I enjoyed the peace and quiet. This was on a Thursday and though there were lots of cars in the parking areas we saw only a few people and two horses while hiking. We’ll maintained trails.

It was a beautiful place but way to many people for my liking. I go out to get away from people and the hustle and bustle of the city and if that’s what you’re looking for this isn’t it.

I used to work at Tryon Creek State Park. It's good for trail runners and anyone that wants to get into nature for a little bit from the city.

Good trail for a casual hike or trail running. Could easily make a longer hike out of it if you do the full loop and explore branch trails.
