Easy hike along McDowell Creek with lower and upper views of Royal Terrace Falls and Majestic Falls. Visitors to the crystal clear water of McDowell Creek will be rewarded with the beautiful vistas of Royal Terrace and Majestic Falls from the bridges and viewing decks along the hiking trails of this lush green park. The McDowell Creek Falls offer exceptional scenery with places to stop and enjoy a picnic lunch. Some fishing and wading is available in the pools below the falls. The trail itself is easy, and great for families.

I ended up hiking up the stairs to start with on this trail, which gave it a good challenge for such a short hike, but starting on the trail off to the left may have been easier. The views and waterfalls are amazing and definitely worth visiting!

Fun hike/trail run. Ran fine with no slips. A lot packed into a short hike. Will do it again.

Great hike. Trails were a bit slippery at times and the stone stairs were definitely a workout. Hit all three falls and multiple different paths. I was there by 8am so I only ran into a couple people on my return. #50waterfallsby50

Fun trails with lots of amazing flora and multiple breathtaking waterfalls. Great for the pup but maybe a bit difficult for young children or people with disabilities. I took the advice of another AllTrails user and took the trail leading left opting to go down the steep stone stairs on the way back as opposed to going up in the beginning

Hike was busier then I thought it would be on blustery January day. Overall was very pretty and trails that get you get really close to some cool waterfalls.

Nice hike perfect trail. Gorgeous waterfalls

Nice little walk up to Majestic Falls, took the stairs up to the upper lookout and was absolutely not disappointed! The view is stunning, ended up going on 12/31/19, and got a little soggy with the heavy fog and later the heavy rain. The decent from the upper bridge was nice and muddy, only made trickier by my gsd puppy and a 3yo nephew. Didn't get to hike the whole park because we got rained out. Overall awesome place!

I did this trail on New Year's Eve, just barely beating the rain. I took the left fork at Royal Terrace Falls instead of heading up the stairs, and I am happy for it. The stairs are very steep, and I was happier to walk down them rather than up. The incline going the other way is much easier. Royal Terrace and Majestic Falls are gorgeous. When I was there, there were few others on the trail, and I had Majestic Falls all to myself. I stuck around on the lower viewing platform soaking in the views (and the mist), and became deeply lost in thought. It felt like I was in a dream. It was so peaceful. Be very careful walking down the stone stairs. They are steep and were very slippery with mud when I visited. If you have bad knees, take it extra slow.

Great and quick hike! A little steep at first but then flattens out. A few little muddy patches but nothing crazy! Would definitely recommend:)

Went up Friday and it was nice. There were just a couple of places of mud. Bridges were slick due to how cold it is up there. Also realize there is not much sunshine due to tree coverage so keep that in mind as winter hours are here. Allow yourself time through the trail to make up for darkness early and also the fact the sun is on the other side of the mountain by 1ish.

It was pretty muddy, a little slippery in some areas but not horrible. It’s an easy hike if you go the right way. (Made a mistake and went backwards.) overall, very beautiful waterfalls and the stairs are really cool.

This trial was fantastic! It was very shaded and wasn’t too hot, but because of all the moisture it was very humid. I’d definitely recommend doing this early in the morning or later in the evening. It was fairly steep and a little rocky. Also, if you head right at the beginning of the trail to go up the stairs, you’ll eventually reach a fork in the trial as you go up the loop, if you want to follow the trail on the app, go right. If you head left you’ll head back down the mountain and eventually end up on the road and you’ll have to follow the road down a bit to find the next portion of the trail. Other than going left instead of going right at the fork, the trail was just fine otherwise.

a Good hike

Trail was kinda lame... Nothing much to see. Good for excercise but not much else. The elevation gain is rapid so if you're disabled or very young, this trail is a bit more moderate than easy. I recommend just parking at the top, checking out the falls then going down the trail to the road and back to the parking as there isn't anything else to see unless you are looking to go eat berries, ginger, and wood sorrel/sour grass.

The stairs were steep and slippery as it had rained recently. The trail was mostly wide enough for two people side by side. Bracken, ferns, skunk cabbage, salal, and thimble berries along the trails. The falls were okay, but disappointing to someone that has hiked much of central Oregon.

This trail is beautiful! Just moved to Oregon and haven’t been on any “real” hike in the mountains previously. This is a great first hike because of the loop. Some parts were more difficult due to steeper steps and narrow paths, but the views and waterfalls are breathtaking. This app helped a lot to make me stay on trail. Amazing!
