Easy hike along McDowell Creek with lower and upper views of Royal Terrace Falls and Majestic Falls. Visitors to the crystal clear water of McDowell Creek will be rewarded with the beautiful vistas of Royal Terrace and Majestic Falls from the bridges and viewing decks along the hiking trails of this lush green park. The McDowell Creek Falls offer exceptional scenery with places to stop and enjoy a picnic lunch. Some fishing and wading is available in the pools below the falls. The trail itself is easy, and great for families.

Quick trail! The steps are harder than they look though! Gorgeous falls. I personally enjoyed Makestic falls better of the 2. Will definitely do again in the summer time!

It was a beautiful and relaxing hike! I highly recommend hitting the trail later in the morning, when the sun shines through the trees and the morning dew begins to burn off.

a little soggy, but i dont mind that in a trail. the falls are so full right now, the best part of the trail is listening to the flowing water of the river or a fall in front or behind ya. will definitely hike this again!

A quick hike close to Sweet Home. We went today (12-3-2018) and the trail is clear with the exception of one tree that looks to have been down for a while. It’s not hard to climb over but be aware that there is no way around it. The bridges were slippery but that happens when everything freezes! The falls were gorgeous and my kids love peeking behind the trees for fairy houses. There was a minimal amount of mud.

When you start the trail you will have a quick choice. To the left, trail meanders up hill and around, to the right straight up the stairs. Serious stairs, so unless your in descent shape, go the other way and come down them.

very good place! The stairs were a lot for me but made it through

Beautiful hike but didn't realize the number of stairs involved. Expected a few but those of us plus 70's with hip and knee issues had to take the stairs and stone steps slow and easy. The heighth of the stone stairs varied greatly. We also found that a few areas we're beginning to erode away, making some areas a little difficult. But with all that said, it was one of the best hikes we have ever taken.

This is one of my favorite sub-1 hour hikes in and around Lebanon. There can be a lot of people in the park on any given weekend, but most evenings it’s fairly low traffic. The upper trails are narrow and are feeling a bit overgrown but it’s still gorgeous.

I walk the loop counter clockwise from the bottom lot and get the stair climb out of the way early which makes the rest of the path a breeze.

Great hike.

We had a very nice hike on a hot day, so hanging out near the waterfalls and river was a good way to stay cool. I see some posts stating that this should be a Moderate hike, and I somewhat agree. Although 5 of us adults had few problems completing the hike, the trail and steps are steep and irregular.

My adult daughter and I took this hike and felt that due to the steepness of part of the trail it should be listed as a moderate level hike. The area is a nice old growth forest with two waterfalls. According to my phone app the hike was about 3.5 miles long with 20 flights of stairs. The waterfalls are worth the hike, but the park needs restrooms in both parking lots and there were a few places where steps needed to be repaired. A map of the park would be nice, but the trail is will marked and the lower parking lot has a map to look at. The lower lot has picnic tables and a restroom. There is no fresh water available in the park. Besides the hike there is nothing to do except picnic and enjoy the old growth trees. Water level was low for mid-July. There were a few places where people were playing in the water and swimming, but this was mostly a shallow creek due to the water level this year. I wouldn’t go out of my way to return here, but the falls are worth the trip.. The park would draw much bigger crowds if Silver Falls Park weren’t so close by. Not being crowed though is a plus for this park. I’d rate it a 3.5 Park because of the waterfalls, old growth forest and not being crowded.
