Beautiful mature Douglas Fir forest with lots of Vine Maple and fern undergrowth. Crosses many creeks, steep canyon drop off, lots of forest shade, not very crowded. Access via Saltzman Rd, from either Skyline Blvd or US Hwy 30.

Great trail, didn't see a ton of people, nice and quiet. And not far from the city!

This was one of my first times hiking and I must say it was a great experience. It was a little muddy but crossing paths with an occasional hiker along the path was cool. Once you get to the top the view is cool but then you can easily double back down to do another path or just walk down.

I did come across a few unleashed dogs, which were very alarming but it's not a high traffic trail but since I'm not a fan of hyper dogs it was a lot for me.
