hiked the 7-8 mile loop from south falls clockwise. I think this is the way to do it. the last few miles along the road aren't anything great but still nice. we skipped the upper north falls. trail was muddy in places but not bad at all - totally passable without getting super muddy. there were a fair amount of people on the trail with most wearing masks. beautiful trail - one of the best in the Portland area imo
Great hike. Went late January so al the falls were flowing. Started at North falls. Nice finish :) Either direction is great. If you start at South falls it’s more downhill.
This entire trial is a gem of Oregon and must see for anyone traveling through. Be sure to set aside the time to do the entire trial of ten falls loop - it’s well worth it! If you just plan ahead, pack a lunch, water and snacks even the youngest of kiddos can do this hike. It’s mostly flat trails the entire way with the exception of the decent and ascent to those first falls (depending on which parking lot you start at). My family and I typically park at the main parking lot near the South Falls. See ALL of the falls - even the ones like double falls or upper north falls that take a little detour. You will love it. Also, be sure to bring good hiking boots as the trails can be muddy. Best time to come is spring when the falls are really full, or fall when those colors begin to pop.
Silver falls is always beautiful. We wanted to see the falls in winter to see them in all their glory. It was crowded and hard to find parking. Trails were a little slick and muddy but to be expected in winter.
Beautiful trail... amazed of the number of people for a 32 degree day.
Agree with other hikers, definitely well maintained! Pretty popular but it’s easy to understand why, very beautiful.
Not too crowded, great weather. Last couple miles were pretty boring. Icy/slippery on the steps starting at south lot
INCREDIBLE !!! Mother nature is amazing. Its a long hike but so very worth it. I did it in a clockwise direction and the last 2 miles back to the car were so peaceful among the giant trees, gives you time to slow down and absorb it all .... beautiful !
11/27/2020 Nice trail started early. Hiked trail of 10 falls and then continued on the rim trail. The parking lot was full when we were done. It was muddy but overall a really well maintained trail.
A little bit of a light show by the North Falls but in general it looked like someone turned out n the facet.
