Great hike! I started at lower McCleay and went all the way to Pittock Mansion... Pretty crowded today. Some spots of the trail were a little icy but not terrible. Beatiful views! Great trail... Will definitely be back!

Great hike, pretty crowded today, small patch of icy path.

Did this trail on a holiday and it was very busy. However i enjoy how it is in Portland. It is a beautiful hike for the most part, especially given the fact it is in an urban area. Current conditions: clear day, 60 degrees, muddy and some slick rocks.

Fantastic. Walk from the streets of NW Portland straight into this up and back down wide trail that includes a stream, bridges, treed slopes, and a great view of the city from Pittock Mansion up top. Highly trafficked and well-maintained. One of my favorites in and around the rose city!

Great hike in the city. We started at Lower Macleay and hiked to the Pittock Mansion. It came out to 6.1 miles round trip. Parking at the mansion is tough, especially on nice weekend days like today. Beautiful views of Portland and Mt Hood from the front lawn of the mansion.

early october around 12pm. good hike except its steep in areas even with the switchbacks, but manageable. I did the pittock mansion hike then the lower macleay part second and that seemed like a pretty good way to go. parked at the upper macleay parking which has a lot. its more muddy if at all towards the lower macleay by the river and where theres no sun. lots of hikers as well and lots of dogs.

Great forest greenery, other hikers often encountered, a must to visit the Pittock Mansion on the top of the climb. Give yourself for everything (hiking & mansion site seeing) about 3hr.

Beautiful and well marked trail. A little stream trickles along much of the path and sounds amazing. The path is very shady and the hike is easy.

I hiked this with my 10 year old daughter and 3 year old son in my pack. It was a good climb up to Pittock Mansion and the view was nice even though the weather was gray. It was well traveled, as you would expect being in the city. We came across lots of runners and other hikers too.

Fun hike to do, especially if you aren’t from around Portland. Well maintained, beautiful, and give a good view of the city at the top near the mansion.

Beautiful, well- maintained trail. Uphill on the way to the mansion, but switchbacks make it manageable for most hikers. Wonderful, natural NW gardens and view of Portland for a lunch break at the top.

great first trail to do around downtown Portland

Great trail. Had to park a bit away from the lower trail head, it was packed. Steep climb to the viewpoint but the way back was easy and downhill. Beautiful

Can’t beat this trail. So beautiful!

even though it was raining and caused it to be a little muddy it was beautiful! several people were out running and hiking with their dogs. the trees provided decent cover from the rain. all the greenery was beautiful!

Solid hike. Not easy but not too hard either. Great view at the top and an easy trot down.

A great trail to do with families - ending with a beautiful view of Portland! There’s the witches house, a heritage tree, and Pittock Mansion all in one hike! This trail has some good elevation gain, but nothing that should deter anyone from hiking up it. It’s almost entirely single packed down dirt with a few road crossings.

Good steady climb up for 2.5 miles- especially the last mile-until you get to the Mansion and gardens. Great place to take a quick break and enjoy the view of Portland on the river. A good but slightly technical trail to run down as it has numerous switchbacks and a few washouts on the edges of the trail. You can hike up in 45-50 minutes and run down in 15:00-25:00 depending g on your skill level and crowds that day. Pretty well shaded 90% of time and water /restrooms available at start. Parking a bit dicey after work and on weekends and don’t leave valuables in the car.

Quick easy access from the city to make you feel like you have escaped the city in just minutes. Very pretty, not crowded, tons of trees, you can go as far as you want or as little as you want.

Very easy, very beautiful! Super neat Witches Castle and the Audubon Society along the way. Great views at Pittock Mansion and lots of pretty flowers!
