Lowami Hart Woods to Mount Williams to Burntwood Loop is a 3 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Beaverton, Oregon that features a great forest setting and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and nature trips and is accessible year-round.
Lowami Hart Woods Natural Area is a 28-acre forested and wetland natural area that was redeveloped by the district in 2013 and reopened in January 2014. Located on SW Hart Rd. -- between SW Murray Blvd. and SW 155th Ave. in the West Beaverton -- this natural area is a destination for walking and wildlife viewing, especially birds. The natural area is the former site of Camp Lowami, operated by the Camp Fire Girls of America (1956-1994). The camp’s original flagpole sits in an environmental education meeting spot near the existing bridge that crosses South Johnson Creek. The Fir Loop Trail, which begins at the new parking lot on SW Hart Rd., includes a large viewing deck looking into the forest. From there, visitors can follow the Snowberry Trail deeper into the natural area, coming across the Johnston Creek, lowland deciduous forest, and the Wahoo Trail. This trail extends north-south through the whole park, with a new bridge that was constructed on the southern end of the trail near a pedestrian access point from SW Hart Rd. On the north end, from SW Barcelona Wy., is another access point, through Brookhaven Woods Natural Area.
There is a large porta-potty restroom at the Hart Rd Trailhead. Benches and viewpoints are present throughout the park and along this loop.
14895 SW Hart Rd The trailhead has a parking lot directly off of Hart Rd in Beaverton. It's best approached from the east coming from the direction of Murray Blvd.
The trail was really pretty. Wish it were a little longer though. So refreshing to see everyone wearing masks.
It was nice. Some good uphill spots. Good views. You do walk through a lot of housing areas.
A bit too suburban for what I was hoping for (much of the "trail" is sidewalk in a neighborhood) but it was beautiful in the forest parts!
Beautiful forest section, but quite a few neighborhood/street sections that are loud or populated.
It was a nice walk. But, half of it was on neighborhood sidewalks. A part of it definitely felt like you were in someone’s yard. But, the parts in the nature parks were pretty.
Nice trek through wooded areas with plenty of elevation changes. Probably a bit more walking by the road than I would have liked but overall it made for a nice loop with plenty of scenery and views.
Very nice trail partially paved and other parts walking on dirt trail. Not very crowded at all! Beautiful!!
It’s a easy trail. Half of the trail was next to busy roads on Davis and Allen (which was not preferable). Some exciting slopes and some great natural views like creeks, beautiful dense greenery on both sides, which I always enjoy. Overall it’s a reasonable hike. I’ll do it more often because I stay very close. Not worth coming from far.
Great trail. A lot more street/neighborhood walking than I expected. Wooded area was gorgeous but limited in mileage. Got most my steps on street an paved path. A restroom would be nice, thats easily accessible. There was one by the overlook but not enough for a 4 mile hike. Would definitely revisit as it is close to my home.
Partly through 2 neighborhoods. Trail is part paved, part wood chips, part dirt/gravel. Greenspace is a wetland and really lovely.
