Nice trail. Quite a few switch backs and as others have said could benefit from better signage. Hiked fairly early on a Sunday morning and saw less than 10 mountain bikers who were very polite and pleasant. We didn't see any other hikers.

Nice, fairly rigorous hike. Part of the southern portion to the visitor center is out, you’ll have to take the Banks-Vernonia trail around. I went at 8am on a weekday and didn’t see another person for seven miles.

I tried to hike this loop on Feb 3, 2018 but you can’t. Or at least not by the rules. This loop starts at the information center but all the signs say you aren’t supposed to park and hike from this lot. You are supposed to park up at the Hill Top lot. Also this loop goes on a lot of trails marked as Mt Bike only, no hiking. So you can’t hike this loop with out being a jerk, disregarding the rules, and getting in the way of all the Mt Bikers.
