Directions from Rhododendron: Travel east on Highway 26 for five miles. There will be a small pullout on the south side of Hwy. 26 by a heritage marker sign.

Not the best views, and much of the trail shows signs of heavy use by mountain bikers. Nice trail through great forest.

Absolutely beautiful beginning to a hike by the creek but it looks as tho the trail is washed out 1/4 if that of a mile into the hike. We turned around because we had dogs. There wasn’t a trail that we could see past the slide.

At the beginning is steps and the trail cuts in and out on the old, abandoned highway which was pretty cool as my grandparents drove that road for their honeymoon.
