This is a tough hike! Lots of elevation gain at a high altitude, be prepared and ready! There is also a river crossing with no bridge. You will have to find a log to cross and it helps if you have hiking poles or a large stick to help balance as you cross. There are lots of switch backs and it just seems to go on forever, but the payoff is big. Views of Mt. Adams and the eastern Oregon desert on the way up. The views once you reach Lamberson Butte are amazing of Mt. Hood, you feel like you could touch the top! The views of the cascades looking South towards Mt. Jefferson are also stunning. Bring lots of water and snacks, you will need it!
