Getting There

A park at a point of land north of Portland overlooking the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers. This is a short walk around the Kelley Point State Park which marks the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia River. When you are the point a series of wooden pilings out into the river marks the split between the two rivers. On your left is the Willamette and right is the mighty Columbia. You will probably see some gigantic ships pass by this area. If not just look around at the multiple ports at both sides of the point. This is a great place for seabird watching.

To get here just follow 99E from Portland until it turns into Marine Drive (120) and follow that north all the way to its end at Kelly Point State Park where you will find a free parking lot.

Good trail, there’s a shoreline you can hang out on. I’ve heard a few people have died from the rip tides while swimming, so I don’t recommend doing so. Overall an easy, short hike.

Drizzly day with several folks walking their off leash dogs. Most dogs were under owner control. Enjoyed reading about Mr. Kelly on plaque and seeing where the two rivers meet. Did not like that part of the trail loop was on the road.

Nice little park to have a little walk and see the big ships go by. Some beaches and picnic tables. Nearby, so that’s a plus!

Good for a family hike to let the kids run and explore. Seeing the gigantic ships was awesome! There is a nice little beach area (someone told me it’s a nude beach; not sure) and picnic tables along the way. Good place for a day outing. Can’t remember if there’s bathrooms, though.

Nice quick jog/walk with a nice trail, ample parking and great views. it can be problematic jogging as there were a fair number of dogs that failed to keep their pets/owners on a leash which can me difficult/awkward to navigate. Those knuckleheads dogs...

This is one of the first trails we tried after moving to Portland 3 days ago. I give it 3 stars b/c it was dirty in some areas (garbage all over the parking lots), noisy (airplane traffic), and not a long trail/loop. I liked that it is secluded, has beach access, is dog-friendly, and has beautiful river views.
