A short, but moderately steep hike to amazing views of the Three Sisters cascade area. The sunny, rocky slopes of Horsepasture Mountain offer a variety of wildflowers in late June. At the top of the mountain, the site of an old lookout, there are outstanding views of the Three Sisters, Mt. Washington, Mt. Jefferson, and Bachelor Butte. Mt. Hood and Diamond Peak can also be viewed on a clear day.

Absolutely amazing views at the top. Well worth the hike in.

Currently there is a landslide blocking the road about 4 miles away from the trailhead so we couldn't hike it at this time. The last 10 miles to get to the trailhead are up the side of a mountain on a gravel trail. Not too terrible a drive, but take some caution.

went up this several years ago and was beautiful. tried again this year and the horse creek access rd is closed right after the campground. heard the road was washed out but no mention on forest service site of closure or if repairs...anyone know if they will fix that road?
