Really nice trip along the lake. Some part doesn’t have shade. Suggest go early. It is a popular trail, lots of people don’t wear masks.

Spectacular view of the river and many waterfalls, lots of wild flowers, postcard picture like river views! The lake was very nice, saw some people swimming. Not difficult at all.

Beautiful! I loved this one. You hike alongside gorgeous falls and wildflowers. Pretty good traffic even on a Monday. Lots of pups! One you get to the lakes, it’s stunning. I sat and ate my lunch on a rock in the lake for an hour. Can’t wait to come back and swim/camp!

Great for hiking with family or trail running. Mosquitoes were a problem at times but didn’t take anything away from the hike.

A beautiful hike with various scenery dynamics. a fair amount of people on the trail for a Monday, many with dogs. bugs weren't a problem. Even if you're only day hiking, take lunch and factor in an hour to sit by the lake. it's gorgeous and well worth the break.

Wonderful hike! It gets a little steep and about halfway through but then evens out. The views are absolutely amazing. I definitely suggest leaving around 6:30-7am to beat the heat and people. Only down side is that I saw a few foggy poop bags on the way down. Definitely going to camp at Green Lakes next time! The view is surreal! And if you have dogs, there are PLENTY of places for them to stop and drink water or take a dip along the way :)

Beautiful! The flowers were amazing, so many colors. The hike went really fast, we were shocked to arrive at the green lakes as fast as we did! Take a dip in the lake before you head back, it was shockingly cold and amazing on a hot day. We arrived at the parking lot at 6:30am and it was Full!!! Be prepared, it's busy.

Great hike. Very doable for anyone in okay shape. Gets steep in the latter half but not too bad. It's very hot right now, would recommend planning to be done before noon.

Hiked on 7/29/20 and the lake was stunning! You do need an annual recreation pass or you can purchase a day pass there. The mileage and elevation gain is very accurate. No significant uphill climbing but the distance is tiring. Took us about 4 hours round trip with a short break for lunch at the lake.

Absolutely beautiful and magnificent trail. All throughout the hike the river stays close by, the sounds of the current is relaxing and peaceful. We started at 8 to 830 and the air was cool and crisp. It got hot around noon. Through 10 mile hike I approx drank 2 1/2 liter h20.

Green lakes is one of my favorite local hikes. first half is easier than the second half but in all there is nothing that the average healthy & able bodied individual can’t handle. Once you get to the first lake up top, u can add some length to your hike by circling the second (larger) lake. In total my hike amounted to about 10 miles!

The wild flowers are popping and the lake was so calm, it offered a beautiful reflection of the peak. All around gorgeous. Unfortunately, I’ve never seen so many dog poo bags along a trail. I understand you will “pick it up on your way down” and never forget to do so (unlikely), but do you think other hikers want a trail dotted with dog poo bags? I will answer that—we don’t. If you aren’t prepared to carry the poo, leave the pup at home.

Perfect but very challenging. Amazing views!! The last summit section is hard to find. We climbed a big wall to reach the real summit, but there is an easier path on the left that will take you a little lower. Same view but less risky :)

Great hike!! We encountered quite a bit of people on a Thursday so rather heavily trafficked. The wildflowers and meadow scenery is beautiful.

It was a beautiful hike! Most of it is by the water! We did get eaten by Miskitos so highly recommend repellent but otherwise a great hike!

I'm almost 5 months pregnant and we did this as an overnight out and back trip with our two beagles. Started later in the day to avoid excess heat and slow, but steady.. we got to a campsite at Green lakes at about 930. So. Many. Stars. the trail out has a steady incline but lots of water stops along the way for the dogs. my only regret is wearing hiking sandals instead of my Solomons. The rocky/sand trail was a pain with the shoes but I managed. On our way back out we passed numerous numerous groups of people hiking in. Happy to cross this one off the list. Beautiful place!

Hiked this July 19. No snow on trail. Really beautiful trail, moderate on the east side leading up to Green Lake. You’re able to get into the water and enjoy the view of snow capped South Sister. Definitely recommend this hike.
