A short trek with great views of the Three Sisters The trail starts out easy then quickly gets a bit steep and has a little bit of a switchback as you head up the ridge. Lots of big old trees, True old growth, never seen a saw! You pass through a couple of small meadows and reach the ridge line. Your first reward is a view of the Three Sisters off to the southeast. They look close enough to touch. Browder Ridge is to your north.

Saw a large bear on 5/27/2020 near the trail. He was in the large semi-flat meadow near where Gate Creek Trail joins Browder Ridge Trail. He was an impressive sight as he ran away from us. The Browder Ridge portion of the trail still had quite a bit of snow on it, making it hard to follow. We didn’t go all the way to the summit. Spectacular views, especially from the meadow where we encountered the bear.

Very pretty view at different parts of the hike, but not the best winter hike. There's about 1 foot of snow right now and it's not a popular enough hike to follow a clear trail. We had to search for a bit for the trail at the end, but it was still fun!

This was an awesome hike. A couple of things... easy drive in. Gravel roads well maintained. Follow AllTrails GPS alL the way. This is on the harder side. It’s not technical for the most part, but it is a steep incline going up. This is a great workout. If you follow the all trails map you’ll end up at a split where folks continue to backpack the lake. You can really stop at any of the view points and turn around depending on how you’re feeling. Towards the end the trail is a little washed out. It’s not problematic, just be careful. Brings lot of water. There are a couple of spots good for lunch. Also, dog enjoyed it. Ran into two groups the whole time.

Having done both, this is the most efficient way to Browder summit. It cuts 3 mi off the hike as opposed to starting at Browder Ridge TH. Trail is in great condition. Bear grass is plentiful. It is getting popular though so start early on July weekends and holidays. Wildflowers are magnificent.

One of the best hikes ever. We started at the Gate Creek TH. And turned around just past the intersection with Browder Ridge Trail. Mt Jefferson is my fave and the views were fantastic. The views of Three Sisters and Three Fingered Jack were so close and larger than life! Good tree cover, tons of wildflowers, meadows, forests... lots of different terrain. Trekking poles helped with steep areas. Total 6.8 miles.

Trail was in great shape as compared to previous years. Wildflowers, butterflies and a viewpoint at 1.5 mi. Only went as far as split with Browder and Heart Lake. Total of 6.6 mi. Not too overgrown in meadows and a shorter route to Browder Summit or Heart Lake than if you take Browder Ridge Trail. Only tricky part is locating trailhead as roadside sign is missing. Follow directions and look for area on road allowing for parking and signpost without the sign. You’ll hear the creek where you enter the woods and come to the trailhead sign a few feet in.

Did this weekend may 19-20 to Browder Ridge. Hike to heart lake is overgrown so couldn’t find the trail. Awesome view of Jefferson and the sisters. If you continue on Browder Ridge for a few meters and then walk straight up the meadow there’s a good place to pitch a tent and have a fire. Tiny patches of snow but didn’t affect access! Wildflowers are just starting to peak out

The trailhead is right at the bottom of the hill near the end of the parking area(a lot of people asked when I went). The trail is pretty much uphill, but has nice flatter areas too to give you a break. Some areas are a bit eroded from water. there are great views! (I used the gps to track myself on the trail and almost the entire time it said I was going WAY OFF and blazing my own trail even though I was on the only available pathway.. I suggest using a different app for this trail.) Happy hiking!
