Started at big creek playground and park and went out to ocean and bacon. Started recording late - total was 3.2 miles if you take a decent walk on beach. Took our dogs and it was a great home to tire the puppies out.
Nice family friendly hike. Last time we did this hike a year or so ago there were homeless people and trash everywhere. All that is gone and the trail has packed gravel for easy walking. It is a bit steep in places but nothing a few minute pause won’t fix for us over sixty couple. Highly recommend.
I'm not sure that it's really supposed to be a trail at all. If you start at Sam Case Elementary and go around the bar crossing the gravel road it quickly turns into some steep descent followed by a pretty gnarly climb. I'm in better than ok shape and it's a good challenge even if it's short. After you finish, the beginning of the bay to coast trail is just a hundred or so meters away which runs all the way to Agate Beach wayside.
