A good hike through a new natural area that includes several elevation changes This hike is full of elevation gain. You start from the parking lot and hike to the top of Cardwell Hill in old growth on a nice gravelled road. You then be rewarded with a nice downhill walk to the Fitton Green dedication rock. At the rock the gavel ends and you will then follow a dirt road (muddy in the winter) up a second hill to the top of the Fitton Green lookout. After resting and taking in the view (there should be a Porta-Potty near by) you get to do it all again in reverse.

Awesome trail with a great view! A few muddy spots but nothing terrible. Definitely a few steep hills. Fairly short loop but I didn’t check out the trails that went off of the main loop.

A few muddy spots but nearly dried. Hot at 70 degrees- some parts exposed. A really great trail and great area. Skip the loop at the top- the way down is very steep (decline) and slippery. Just turn around when you see the big house. Pup loved it, plenty of streams to get muddied up in! I clocked 5.3 miles and 1300 feet elevation gain.

Nice hike that’s starts out on a rock access road then to a more muddy trail. Great view of Mary’s Peak and the valley.

Slightly muddy for majority of clime up to the top loop, still a great hike! Be ready for the second climb on the way out!

A great hike with a view to match. Nice if you need a change of scenery from the Peavy-Mcdonald-Dunn area.

Not a bad trail for running, though a bit muddy during the wet season. Some good views, would recommend if you are looking to burn a a sweat.

Great trail for a moderate, long walk up to an absolutely beautiful view. Nice wide roads to walk on with dogs. If you are running the trail, however,, be aware that it is a difficult run and the vast majority of the trail is uphill.

trail was a good workout. unfortunately it was cloudy so views were limited. I would avoid the small trail from the Fitton green parking area to the main trail as there is lots of poison oak

Great workout, tons of elevation gain and loss. Some fantastic views at the lollipop loop. A bit more logging road than I like, about half road and half trail.

If your looking for views I wouldn't walk from this entrance. go to panoramic rd. parking area to get to the green belt veiws easier and quicker. if you want a good workout with veiws almost 3 miles in and a good sweat then this trail is for you. Parking is minimal only 4 cars and maybe a motorcycle wide lol

This trails leads to one of the best views in Corvallis!

Beautiful hike! wide trails, well maintained. There are quite a few offshoots from the main trail to explore. I'm recovering from surgery, and not in as good of shape as I would like, so I found the elevation to be a bit challenging. Not impossible, but I had to work at it. It was a workout and well worth it. The views are fantastic.
